NEW YORK (April 1, 2001) - site-host.com, one the largest hosting companies on the East Coast, announced today the
completion of its new Network Operations Data Center at the company's networking headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, NY.
The company's commitment to heavy investment in hardware and facilities contributes to the reliability and stable
performance of Site-Host's networks.
Site-Host's new, larger, Network Operations Data Center is now equipped with industry-leading Liebert uninterruptable
power supplies (UPS), Trane & Liebert Air Conditioning Systems, Halon Fire Protection System, and stand-by custom
built servers, all located in a secure, monitored and manned facility.
"The impetus of the move was substantial growth and an increase in the number of servers
per square foot which caused problems for the current facility to be cooled sufficiently. We did
not want to make compromises in the quality of hosting we deliver." says Vladimir Slavinski, the
Network Administrator. More space was also needed for the Liebert 30-ton industrial air
conditioning unit which keeps the computer rooms and operations center at optimal
temperature for the performance of the servers.
The NODC's new air conditioning system allows for great flexibility in the conditioning of air in order to
maintain uniform room temperature. That way, both the servers and the other hardware can
be temperature controlled at an optimal level. For instance, the multi-phase 50 kilowatt UPS
system and battery cages, which are used to keep hundreds of servers online in the event of a
power failure, is now cooled with Trane AC units dedicated especially for that purpose.
Site-Host also achieved an increase in security through the installation of an extensive
fire prevention system. The Halon fire protection system and automatic sliding doors prevent
fire from spreading between units and allow for immediate extinguishing of fire while
equipment and personnel remain unharmed. "We are delighted to have opened this new
center, which allows us to be of even greater service to our clients." says Timothy Rosario,
Assistant Director of Site-Host.
